Accountant/Finance Specialist at Public Works & Development Services Department

Performs various accounting, budget, purchasing, and system administration functions for Public Works and Development Department.
Assist with preparation of County’s annual budget.
Review and provide financial reports as requested.
Assist with contracted payroll
Compile and document deposits.
Assist in County’s accounts payable, proofing contracts invoices and purchase orders.
Assist with general accounting functions such as journal entries, accounts payable, and cost allocation.
Assist with the administration of the County’s Tyler Munis financial system.
Identify and implement continual process improvement to enhance department efficiency.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels.
Public works billing
Audit timesheets and other highway reports
Cross train with Parks and Highway to provide integrated department coverage.
Receives general supervision from the Audit and Accounting Manager
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or another related field.
Requires two (2) years of progressively responsible accounting and/or finance experience.
Strong computer skills required (MS Excel, Word, etc.).
Government experience preferred.
Tyler Munis or other enterprise resource system experience preferred.

Project management skills.
Strong Excel and MS Office skills. MS Access skill a plus.
Strong, team-oriented work style.
