Chippewa County is accepting applications for an Accountant I position within the Finance Division. The job duties of the Accountant in DHS include but are not limited to providing financial analysis, reporting, auditing, and budgeting functions for DHS and is responsible for the development and management of DHS contracts and under the general direction of the Director of Human Services, and under direct supervision of the DHS Fiscal Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of an Associate’s degree required in Accounting. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or closely related field preferred. Five (5) years of Accounting related work experience. Recent experience in a human service, government or non-profit setting preferred. Must be proficient in Word and Excel programs. Starting Wage: $21.02 – $23.13 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $28.91 per hour.
