    Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, performs a wide range of accounting related duties. Areas of responsibility include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, monthly reconciliations, tax collection, purchasing, and cash handling. This position requires the ability to work under strict deadlines while performing detailed work. Decisions within areas of responsibility are made subject to review by the Accounting Manager and/or Finance Director. Work plans are discussed with periodic review of progress.

    Weekly review of account allocation, accuracy, prior payments and proper approvals.
    Prepare 1099 Miscellaneous for vendors and file with the IRS.
    Maintain accuracy of vendor database.
    Prepare Finance Committee reports for bi-monthly meetings.
    Use meter readings obtained from AMI system and process quarterly Utility billings.
    Create work orders for upcoming final bills or for appointments of field personnel.
    Work closely with the PT Billing Clerk to create final bills and maintain customer account information.
    Daily interaction with customers regarding billing and general questions.
    Work closely with Account Clerk II to proof Bi-weekly payroll.
    Back up Payroll processing functions.
    Tax Collection, including phone calls from resident with questions about their tax bills and/or payments
    Other duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience Requirements:
    Associate degree in Accounting or related field required.
    Minimum of three years of work experience in a customer service setting and performing accounting related work.
    Additional experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
