The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a beautiful and thriving community of 43,151 located at the foot of Lake Winnebago. The City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for the position of Associate Accountant – Accounts Payable. This 30 hour weekly position reports directly to the Deputy Comptroller/Treasurer and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable for all City operations.
This position works closely with departments, vendors and finance staff as well as working with the Comptroller’s team to improve processes, distribution of workload and create efficiencies with existing financial software. This person will join and promote a team-oriented work environment where staff is cross-trained to maximize workforce flexibility.
Qualifications and requirements include: Initiative, adaptability and technical capacity in a fast- paced, detail-orientated position. Associate degree in Accounting or related field and two years accounts payable experience preferred. Individual must be well versed in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning new software products. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
The City of Fond du Lac offers a comprehensive benefit package including health, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, 457 and Roth retirement plans, paid time off, educational opportunities, and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System. This position has a starting hourly wage of $21.97 with potential to receive annual COLA and step increases pending City Council approval of budgets.
