The City of Green Bay is seeking a Grant Administrator-Internal Auditor to lead efforts to ensure City compliance with state and federal guidance for grants. Position will also build and oversee an internal audit program with a focus on strong internal controls, fraud detection, and program evaluation to gauge the success of various initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess knowledge of financial and accounting theories, principles and practices; knowledge of grant administration; and strong communication skills with the ability to direct and supervise the work of assigned staff.
Examples of Duties
-Develop and implement goals, policies, priorities, and work plans related to grant management.
-Monitors City grant expenditures for eligibility with federal, state, and local guidelines
-Provides monthly and other financial reports for Finance Committee and Common Council
-Coordinates all accounting and reporting requirements for grants, including disaster grant funds received by the City.
-Oversight on compliance with all City procurement policies and proper internal controls.
-Coordinates and validates City’s schedule of expenditures and federal awards.
-Maintains communication with City’s department heads and elected officials.
-Serves as administrative lead and primary point of contact for the American Rescue Plan Act grant, including scheduling meetings, strategic planning, updating progress reports, and following up on action items as needed.
-Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or public administration.
Three to five years experience performing work related to professional financial audits and/or accounting work with grants.
This is a limited-term position funded through a 4-year grant with possibility of extension. Starting salary range is $60,486-$67,579 DOQ plus excellent benefits.
