This position is the Deputy to the chief fiscal officer for the Village, responsible for assisting in the proper administration of the financial affairs and fiscal records of the Village.

Examples Of Essential Duties:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:•Assist in the maintenance of the accounting records for the Village: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
•Assist in the preparation of financial statements and state and federal reports.
•Assist with cash management functions; cash flow analysis, investments and reconciliation.
•Assist in preparation of the tax roll, tax billing and the collection of property taxes for the Village.
•Maintenance of the Village payroll processes and related reporting functions.
•Provides budget, payroll and associated confidential personnel information, as required, to appropriate village officials and agencies.
•Assist in the supervision of Clerk-Treasurer staff.
•Assist Deputy Clerk as necessary.
•Assist in the day to day operations of the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office.
•Performs other duties as circumstances may require at the direction of the Clerk-Treasurer.
•High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
•Minimum 3 years professional experience in a financial capacity; municipal government experience preferred.
•CPA, CMA or CPFO desired.
•Effective communication, oral and written.
•Ability to retain confidentiality of village employment, personnel and financial matters.
•Read, write and subtract.
•Skilled in use of a computer, calculator, telephone, fax machine, copy machine and electronic cash register system.
•Proficiency in software programs used by the Village.
•Good interpersonal skills.
•Considerable knowledge of the theory and practice of government finance, treasury and cash management functions.
•Ability to define problems, collection of data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
•Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
