    DUNN COUNTY invites applications for the position of: County Treasurer

    SALARY: $68,264
    DEPARTMENT: Treasurer’s Office
    OPENING DATE: 03/05/2021
    CLOSING DATE: Continuous

    The purpose of the County Treasurer is to plan, supervise, and perform Dunn County Treasurer duties as described in Wisconsin Statutes Chapters 59.20 and other related statutory duties as required.


    Illustrative Outline of Duties:
    • Plan, direct, supervise, and monitor Department activities regarding the collection of real estate taxes and receipts from County offices, and Departments
    • Train, direct, supervise, monitor, evaluate, promote, and discipline Department personnel
    • Direct, prepare, and monitor daily financial activity reports, deposits, monthly account reconciliations, County bank accounts, investments, and Department budget
    • Assist with accounts payable and receivable, and unclaimed funds procedure
    • Review and correct mill rate calculation and Statement of Taxes submitted by municipalities
    • Provide assistance to municipal clerks, treasurers, school districts, and other tax­ assessing districts regarding real estate tax collection and disbursement
    • Calculate, process, and disburse annual real estate tax bills and prepare any settlements
    • Assist with collecting delinquent taxes by following Wisconsin Statutes procedures for Tax Deed Property and may file bankruptcy case information to the Corporation Council
    • Oversee the County’s Investment Portfolio
    • Works closely with the Real Property Lister on accurate property information for real estate rolls
    • Coordinate printing and distribution of important property information such as real estate rolls and tax certificates and statements
    • Other duties as required


    Experience Requirements
    • An elected position, and as such must meet qualifications for a Wisconsin County elected official
    • A background check is required

    Preferred Training and Education

    • Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field
    • Three (3) years of accounting experience
    • Accounting experience within a government agency

    Work Environment
    Work is performed in an office setting that is safe and comfortable in respects to violence, noise, and disease. Minimal lifting requirements of up to 25 pounds.
