    VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR
    ZONING ADMINISTRATOR
    JOINT VILLAGE/ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

    Located in Door County, Wisconsin, the Village of Sister Bay is an active community with over 900 year-round residents. During the summer and fall Sister Bay becomes a vibrant tourist destination and home to over 8,000 seasonal residents.
    Salary and benefits package are commensurate with experience.

    Village Administrator:
    The Village’s new Administrator will be held accountable for and will oversee our Public Works operations, which includes the Water, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Water Departments, as well as the Streets, Parks, and Maintenance Departments, and will also be accountable for and oversee the operations of the Village’s Marina, as well as the Finance and Human Resource Departments. Police and sanitation services are contracted services. Our new Administrator must possess strong leadership skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with elected officials, department heads, and committee members.

    Candidates must have a minimum BA in Public Administration or related fields and five to seven years of municipal government experience. A Master’s Degree in Public Administration is preferred, but a strong combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

    Candidates must possess managerial, interpersonal, employee accountability and leadership skills to direct a talented Village team serving both full-time and active seasonal residents and guests, as well as long-standing local businesses.

    Zoning Administrator:
    The Village’s new Zoning Administrator will be accountable to the Village’s Plan Commission, as well as a seven-member Board that meets at least monthly. We are seeking experienced candidates to undertake planning initiatives that contribute to the sustained growth and vitality of Sister Bay by balancing the needs of our residents, business owners and visitors. Tasks include review of all commercial and residential development plans, Zoning Code analysis and updates, and long range planning as well as updating of the Village’s Smart Growth Plan.

    This role requires excellent written and oral communication as well as project management skills, and also requires experience with meeting facilitation and community engagement, as well as quantitative and qualitative analysis skills. Mapping and design experience is desirable.

    Candidates must have zoning experience and a BA in urban planning or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination. Someone who qualifies as an AICP is strongly preferred.
