Job Summary
This position is to perform and coordinate various accounting functions including preparing reports, maintaining records, and related duties as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-
inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Maintains fund accounting system in accordance with GAAP requirements. Assists
departments with GAAP procedures, internal controls, and financial efficiency.
Analyzes and reviews general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
Creates and posts journal entries as needed.
Functions as the general ledger administrator.
Assists with year-end closing and audit work papers; assists auditors as required.
Oversees Forestry fund and grants and functions as the CHEMSPRO administrator.
Works with medical biller and oversees ambulance accounts receivable and works as
SWEET BILLING system administrator. Reconciles EMS fund and provides oversight
committee reports.
Oversee Land grant accounting
Oversee Sheriff grant accounting, inmate billing/collections, submitting debt to collections,
reconciles Lockdown program
Oversees and directs Finance Department account technician.
Prepares year-end and audit spreadsheets.
Maintains accounting journals and spreadsheets.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Finance Director.Required Work Experienced/Essential Skills Required to Perform Position/Duties
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with three to five years government accounting experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
WAGE & Benefits:
This full-time position has a starting hourly wage of $27.19 to $33.07 based on experience.
