Accountant – City of Oshkosh, WI

Salary: We offer excellent benefits, with the anticipated starting salary for this position ranging $66,709.50 – $76,245, depending on qualifications.

This position is responsible for recording, analysis, and reporting of financial data and the preparation of key general ledger account reconciliations. The employee works under the general supervision of the Financial Accounting Manager and supports the work of the Finance Department. This position requires the ability to analyze complex financial issues and determine the appropriate solutions. Work requires independent judgment, attention to detail, consistency, and is confidential in nature.

Required minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field OR
• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field combined with three (3) or more years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial analysis or accounting.
• CPA license or ability to obtain is preferred.
• Experience with Governmental Fund Accounting is preferred.
