2026 WGFOA Fall Conference Agenda

Risk doesn’t wait for the right moment — and neither should you. This September, the Wisconsin Government Finance Officers Association brings together the experts, the real-world scenarios, and the practical tools you need to turn uncertainty into resilience. Two days. One theme. Zero fluff.

This is not a webinar. You won’t be muted and forgotten while a slide deck plays. Every session is taught live on Zoom by leaders in the field, with real-time Q&A, breakout options you choose, and a member-driven Spreadsheet Showcase where your peers share the tools they actually use. You bring the questions; our presenters bring the answers — in the moment.

And you’ll do it all from the convenience of your own office. No travel, no hotel, no time away from your community. Just two focused days of learning, right at your desk.

Here’s what’s on the agenda:
Day one opens with Ethical Leadership from UWGB’s Christopher Paquet, then hands you the controls with your choice of breakouts on Workers Compensation (Wisconsin Counties Association) or Sales Tax Audits (Wisconsin Department of Revenue). After lunch, dig into Risk to Resilience: Funding Decisions Under Uncertainty with League Insurance CEO Matt Becker, sharpen your defenses in Cyber Risk Management & Insurance with CVMIC’s Josh Treuer, and close the day with Baker Tilly experts on either Leveraging AI in your ERM Framework or Managing Market Risk: Debt Structuring and Capital Planning in Volatile Times.

Day two brings the US Bank Risk Management team for Managing Risk Through Leadership, then wraps with the first-ever Spreadsheet Showcase, presented by WGFOA members for WGFOA members.

Live. Interactive. Practical. This is professional development built for finance officers who need to manage risk in the real world — delivered the way it should be.
