    The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a beautiful and thriving community of 44,678 located at the foot of Lake Winnebago.     We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Payroll Administrator within the City Comptroller Division of the Department of Administration. The position ensures accurate, timely in-house processing of employee bi-weekly compensation for all City employees; maintaining payroll records; complying with Federal/State laws, City policy and collective bargaining agreements; payroll reporting; resolving pay discrepancies; and system and policy administration.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    This role requires high attention to detail, confidentiality, and expertise in ERP-integrated or full-suite HRIS environments (Workday preferred) and labor laws. Work involves handling a variety of confidential documents and information and the incumbent is expected to exercise the highest level of judgement and discretion regarding the content, accuracy, and completeness of information. There is daily interaction with department/division heads and employees. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

    Desirable Training and Experience
    Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and 6 to 7 years of progressively responsible duties in a payroll environment, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desirable.

    SALARY RANGE: We offer a competitive compensation package ($68,120.33 – $72,752.52/annually) based upon knowledge, skills, and abilities with potential to receive additional step increases based on meeting and/or exceeding goals/expectations; annual COLA and step increases pending City Council approval of budgets.
